North American Menopause Society Meeting

Our very own board-certified Gynecologists, Dr. Robin Kroll and Dr. Philip DuBois attended the 30th annual North American Menopause Society 2019 meeting in late September. The meeting was held in Chicago, and the theme was, “NAMS at 30: Making Menopause Mainstream”.

The NAMS Annual Scientific Meetings began in 1989 with one goal in mind; to promote the health and quality of women during their midlife and beyond. Each year, the meetings focus on relevant issues relating to menopause and midlife women’s health.

The 2019 pre-meeting symposium focused on perimenopause with an added course on “Menopause 101: Building a Foundation”. The perimenopause presentation featured topics such as Managing a Healthy Menopause Transition, Contraception During the Menopause Transition, Metabolic Changes During the Menopause Transition, and so much more. Some examples of the Menopause 101 course featured programs are Pathophysiology of Menopause, Bone, Cardiovascular Health, and Sexual Health.

The meeting also offered “Meet the Experts” Breakfasts that offered a chance to speak with leaders in the field that are at the forefront of studying and specializing in areas such as managing postmenopausal endometriosis, primary ovarian insufficiency, hormone therapy, and cardiovascular disease, along with many others.

NCMP certification was also held during the annual meeting. As a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner, you show the world that you have a higher standard of care with this prestigious credential. This certification gives you credibility among your peers and offering optimal menopausal care for patients. Our physicians at Seattle Clinical Research Center have undergone the training and certification process to be NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioners.
