Nicole Ehrhardt, MD

Dr. Ehrhardt earned her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in 2002, completing her training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She served as an endocrinologist in the U.S. Army, including a deployment as a general medical officer in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After her military service, Dr. Ehrhardt joined the Medical Faculty Associates at George Washington University in Washington, DC, before moving to The Diabetes Institute at the University of Washington in 2020.
Dr. Ehrhardt has a strong interest in lifestyle changes and multidisciplinary strategies for disease management in both clinical care and research. She is a certified Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) trainer. At UW, her research has focused on the use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and investigating how GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RA) may lower stroke risk. Dr. Ehrhardt is also dedicated to promoting inclusion in research and received a grant from the American Diabetes Association to address healthcare disparities within the Latino community. Furthermore, she served as the director of the UW Cardiometabolic ECHO which supports the management of complex diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic diseases through education of local primary care providers.
Dr. Ehrhardt is dedicated to caring for patients with diabetes and metabolic disorders and advocates for integrating technology, pharmacology, and holistic health education to enhance outcomes for those living with diabetes, obesity, and related conditions. She is excited to bring her years of research and clinical practice to the Seattle Clinical Research Center.
